Could one get glowing eyes on this Captain model? His face is hidden behind the helmet...

I'm probably going to have to go back in on those eyes yes.

Rhy'tan Themian is complete! HQ model #2 down, one more to go. I like this one, was simple and fun to do.

So today I finished working on my heroic base for my Salamanders Chaplain, and he is now ready for play. Pretty satisfied with my work honestly.

Nice! The black on silver is a favorite scheme of mine

Do those bike bases come with the debris modeled on them, or is that something you added?

Nice looking paint jobs as well!

That's the GW Technical "cracking earth" effect paint, I believe called Agrellan Earth, there's also a red version called Martian Ironearth.

It's a very cool effect, but it's quite hard to get it to stick around, as the whole idea of the paint is that it dries out and cracks, it tends to be a bit crumbly and difficult to maintain. This leads to the need to base coat (looks nice with dark tan, though you can make a quick'n'dirty lava base by using orange), then wash, which will hold it together enough for a quick drybrush, after which you have to dullcoat the model or it'll STILL crumble.

I used that paint for my Harlequins but switched over to the new microbead paints you get in the tall pots for my Genestealer Cult models and I will likely use the tan version of that for my bases now. a 5-step process with lots of waiting around for stuff to dry and crack becomes a 2-step process that finishes drying by the time you basecoat 10 models.

If you've the patience for it though, Agrellan Earth equivalents can make some very cool bases.
Game Preferences:
A model may assault upper levels of terrain if they charge far enough to climb them
All current beta rules in effect unless opponent prefers otherwise
I love setting up custom, fluffy scenarios, PM me!

You don't *have* to dull coat. Lamian medium (or equivalent) will work pretty well as a clear sealer

Scott is right and it is indeed Agrellan Earth. It does tend to crumble a bit especially if you put it on thin. Put it on thick and it's better to work with.

Val'Rek got his base completed today and is now resting while his glue dries on his feet. I'm gonna have to field these two sometime soon.
