What I've been working on lately

Postby Sandtiger » Fri Dec 30, 2016 12:58 am

Hey all, I haven't actually shown off much lately but I finally completed something today - my first Salamanders Captain! I had always wanted to do Salamanders as a second army and he's finally done after much work so here you go:

I am also working on a Rune Priest on a Bike, although he is not quite done yet. I need to fix up his sword a bit and maybe do some other things, I can't remember now. I'll have to find the actual model and work on it, but he will definitely be ready by the time we have our Apocalypse game roll out in February.

Yep, it's the LE Terminator Captain. Comes with a spiffy combi-fist with a melta grenade launcher. :D

That captain really needed to be a Salamander for sure! Definitely digging the cape and the solid base colors. I'd love to see maybe a bit of edge highlighting on that terminator armor with some bright green myself, I find the terminator armor to be very friendly to edge highlights.

If there's anything I've learned from my harlequins and all the freehanding, it's that flame effects are easy money when it comes to stuff looking fancified ;) DONT try dragon scales though... He's looking awesome! I'm a wash addict, personally, so I'd also slap that silver with a brown wash but yeah the cape and skulldetails are A+.

A model may assault upper levels of terrain if they charge far enough to climb them

I love setting up custom, fluffy scenarios, PM me!

What'd great about that captain as a Salamander is that by master-crafting the fist it affects both the punching AND his melta shot.
