MrScotty wrote:A GMT is about the size of a battlewagon, a little bigger actually: http://www.3dluvr.com/crossbow/warhammer/grottank2.jpg I think the ship is too big for either of them, but the size would matter a lot less with the GMT, which isn't an open topped transport vehicle with a capacity of 20 models. People might complain if 20 orks were able to exit from the tippy-tip of a two foot long pirate boat.

Using it as a superheavy like a battlefortress as mentioned is a possibility, but then you'd need to be playing a game of the size where you could use a battle fortress in order to bring the boat. And if you just wanted for it to be a silly prop thing that you get to bring, I advise using it as the GMT, which is very much a silly, silly ork unit made for goofy narrative games.
Thank you for the insight, this project is being done with nothing but silliness in mind. The GMT would be hysterical and I was planning on buying the gretchin crew from forgeworld and strewn them about the ship so running it as a GMT would be very fitting. Also, I plan on using the ship as terrain, I want to make an orky shanty town/pirates' cover setting for Shadow wars and the freeboota ship would make an excellent addition to thats

Kenji, I compliment your dive straight into the deep end of the 40k crazy pool. All the cool kids swim here!

I love the project- sounds very fun and please keep us posted. If I may offer a few suggestions:

1) The model can easily double as an Orky Battle Fortress (rules are in the Apoc book- I can send you a printout). No model exists, so you can get creative
2) I'm sure you know this already, but bits like these could be helpful:

3) Let me know if you want to rummage through some Ork bits- I've built up a pretty big collection

Thank you sir! This is a big and long term project so I'm sure I'm gonna have to talk to the more experienced conversation/kit bashing members for advice but I find this amount of conversion liberating, the sky's the limit!
