A relatively new project

Postby smbarne » Mon Apr 09, 2018 11:10 am

Hi all,

You may remember me as the person who makes it to the club about once every other month ( hello, six month old! ). Recently ( ok, shortly after Dark Imperium came out ) I decided I was getting a bit tired of painting black. So I present to you my Primaris Alpha Legion gene seed Chapter. Complete with headcannon:
Cypher, after disappearing on Terra, appears to Cawl. Peaking Cawl's curiosity, it convinces Cawl to create an Alpha Legion gene-seed based Primaris Chapter unbeknownst to Gullieman. Because secretly Cypher is Omegon ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer40k/c ... or_heresy/ ). Now my Chapter runs around the galaxy led by Cypher. I've got a few conversions incoming...
I need your help though, I can't decide on a chapter name! I've got some things written down like The Celestial Serpents, The Omega Legion, The Emerald Angels, but nothing is sticking. I did come up with the name Rasiel Aeikos for my warlord in Gravis armor.

Those are gorgeous man, really well done!

For names I'm not so good, sounds like you've got ok ideas. Maybe combo something better than "Celestial" with "Serpents"

"Emerald Serpents" sounds cool to me.

So first of all, gorgeous work on those metallic models, they look awesome.

I think you may need some different headcanon however since it doesn't QUITE fit with the lore that I know.

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Alph ... nd_Rebirth - the death and rebirth part, both before and after the Heresy (particularly Eskrador) is, shall we say, very interesting. If you haven't read it yet I also recommend reading Horus Heresy: Tallarn for some Alpha Legion action, as one of its side plots is about an Assassin vs the Alpha Legion.

Also: I'm sure you're gonna want to pick this up.... https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... ge-post-4/

I'm looking down the barrel of a translucent metallics project myself, and those look terrific- would you be willing to talk about your process and or the sources you used to learn?

Good luck with the name!

Sure thing! I use a combination of the Tamiya Light Blue Metalic spray and then a coat or two of the Tamiya Clear Green spray over that. This picture makes it hard to tell, but there is a turquoise tint to the models. See the process here:

Oh man the Alpharuis model looks sweet.

As for the fluff, Cypher=Omegon is a fan theory based on Omegon dying being a fake out. I recently read the Dorn book and while I really enjoyed it I though the ending was a bit ... Anticlimactic for its content? Anyways thanks for the links, I might need to devise a better story to go with the cannon.

I promised myself I wouldn't magnetize this army. I broke my promise...
